The Hunt

You name it. We find it.

Four stages between a request and a set of keys. Nobody wires money before seeing a translated auction sheet and a full landed-cost breakdown.

Full process

Tell us what you're hunting

Chassis code, trim, colour, gearbox, budget, how original you want it. "R34 GT-R V-spec, Bayside Blue, unmodified" is a far better brief than "a Skyline" — and it cuts weeks off the search.

Same day
No cost, no obligation

We work the auction lanes

Our Nagoya desk watches USS, TAA, JAA and HAA for your car. When one appears we pull the inspection sheet, translate every annotation, and order extra photos of whatever the sheet flags.

1–8 weeks
Depends how rare it is

You see everything, then set a ceiling

Translated sheet, photos, our honest read on the car, and a landed cost to your city. If you like it you set a maximum bid. If you don't, we keep hunting — you've paid nothing.

48 hours before the lane runs

We buy, export and clear it

Auction purchase, de-registration, export certificate, ocean freight, U.S. customs entry and the drive off the port. You get a tracking page and a named person who answers the phone.

8–12 weeks to your door

On the block

Cars we're tracking now

Held by our Japanese partners or flagged in upcoming lanes. Every one is claimable — request it and we bid on your behalf.

Why Japan

The car is genuinely better over there

It isn't nostalgia. The Japanese market preserves cars better and documents them in a way the U.S. used market never has.

Salt-free bodies

Most of Japan doesn't salt its roads, and shaken inspections punish neglect. A 1994 Supra out of Osaka routinely has cleaner floors and sills than a Californian one.

Grading that means something

Every auction car is inspected by a third party and scored 1 to 6 with a lettered damage map. It isn't seller marketing — it's an independent report, and we translate all of it.

Trims that never left

V-spec, Type R, Spirit R, Tommi Mäkinen, 22B. Hundreds of factory variants were built for Japan only, and the honest way to get one is to buy it there.

Real price discovery

Around 130,000 cars cross Japanese auction blocks every week. You're buying at wholesale against a live market, not against one dealer's asking price.

Paperwork that survives

Export certificates, service books and de-registration records usually travel with the car. That history is what you need to title, insure and eventually resell it.

Timing you can plan

Cars become federally importable on a known date. We build watchlists years ahead so you're bidding the month a chassis opens, not two years into the price spike.

Eligibility

Is your car legal yet?

U.S. federal rules exempt vehicles 25 years or older from FMVSS compliance, counted from the month of manufacture. Check any chassis before you fall in love with it.

Delivered

Marcus wanted a V-spec in Bayside Blue, unmodified, under 70,000 km. It took six weeks and four missed lanes before the right car ran at USS Nagoya. Grade 4, one repainted quarter disclosed on the sheet, everything else original.

I'd been quoted a flat "about ninety grand" by two other importers. JDM Hunt sent me a spreadsheet with the duty line, the broker line and their own fee on it before I paid anything. That's the only reason I went ahead.
